Who You Are

You are a dynamic, creative, and highly organized marketing and communications professional who understands the power of storytelling, strategy, and engagement. You will be responsible for shaping the organization’s public image, managing communications across platforms, deepening stakeholder relationships, and ensuring consistent, high-impact visibility of our work. You are passionate about social impact and using communications to elevate brands and amplify voices especially those of girls from underserved communities.

You will be responsible for managing the organization’s media presence, content development, digital campaigns, brand promotion, and internal/external communications. You’ll also coordinate communication volunteers and associates, and work cross-functionally with other departments.


Your Responsibilities

Stakeholder Engagement & Relationship Management

  • Develop and implement strategies to engage key stakeholders including media, partners, donors, government agencies, and community leaders.

  • Cultivate and maintain meaningful relationships that elevate Sheevolution Africa’s brand and mission.

  • Represent the organization at public forums, stakeholder meetings, and advocacy events.

  • Design communication materials tailored to specific stakeholders—policy briefs, newsletters, donor reports, and pitch decks.


Content & Campaigns

  • Develop and implement creative marketing strategies and campaigns to grow the Sheevolution brand and increase engagement across digital and traditional platforms.

  • Create and manage a robust content calendar, including writing, editing, and publishing content for social media, newsletters, blog posts, website updates, and campaigns.

  • Lead storytelling efforts by documenting programme events, gathering beneficiary stories, and producing compelling media assets.


Digital & Media Management

  • Manage all online platforms, including social media channels, website updates, and mailing lists to ensure consistent, timely, and engaging content.

  • Ensure the website is regularly updated with relevant content, stories, and program highlights.

  • Oversee the production of communication materials such as bulletins, reports, infographics, and videos.


Brand Visibility & Media Relations

  • Promote and protect the Sheevolution brand through strategic messaging, visual identity, and media engagements.

  • Build and maintain relationships with relevant media outlets, journalists, influencers, and strategic communication partners.

  • Identify and secure speaking, publishing, or media opportunities that highlight the organization's impact.


Team Management & Collaboration

  • Lead and coordinate communication volunteers, designers and associates, ensuring alignment with campaign goals and organizational values.

  • Work collaboratively with programme and fundraising teams to support campaigns and visibility goals.

  • Organize and support the execution of internal and public events, ensuring branding and communications are impactful.


Competencies

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills

  • Strong storytelling, content development, and editorial judgment

  • Proven social media and digital marketing expertise

  • Graphic design skills and familiarity with tools like Canva, Adobe Creative Suite, etc. (an advantage)

  • Experience managing websites (WordPress or similar CMS)

  • Knowledge of email marketing tools (e.g., Mailchimp, Substack)

  • Ability to work independently and in a fast-paced, collaborative environment

  • High emotional intelligence, cultural sensitivity, and an inclusive communication approach

  • Experience working with girls, youth, or community-based initiatives is a plus


Qualifications


  • Bachelor’s degree in Communications, Marketing, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related fieldMinimum of 2 years of relevant experience in communications, marketing, or brand strategy

  • Familiarity with Nigeria’s development and media landscape

  • Demonstrated ability to lead communications efforts for a social impact organization

  • Fluency in English; other Nigerian languages are a bonus
