Our Journey
The Awakening
It started with a desire to gift girls in community schools with hygiene and grooming kits. With the help of generous donations from our project sponsors, we distributed 60 hygiene and grooming kits to last each girl the school term. We also had an information session with them educating them on hygiene, reproductive health, and personal grooming.
In the course of our interaction, we saw that the need for them to be groomed into whole people with agency and autonomy to be able to make a success of their lives. Beyond their immediate need for hygiene kits there was a wide mentorship gap, that intentional approach to nurturing and self-development.
It dawned on us that these girls were going to remain in their current socio-economic trap if they were not groomed, shown they could be more, and given access to opportunities.
